Total Time = 1h 27m 55s
Overall Rank = 116/431
Age Group = 30-34
Age Group Rank = 17/68
Pre-race routine:

Had a PowerBar Endurance after waking up, and one GU right before the start.
Event warmup:

Rode my bike down to the course and after setting up transition swam 50 yds and jogged .25 mi. I'm not much for warming up.
Swim
  • 07m 54s
  • 440 yards
  • 01m 48s / 100 yards
Comments:

1-2 ft swells were a little difficult for the swim out, but got used to it by the buoy.
What would you do differently?:

Work more on drafting, which I didn't do at all. Otherwise had a good swim. Will definitely need to swim faster to improve in rankings, but didn't work on it enough leading into the race.
Transition 1
  • 01m 34s
What would you do differently?:

Move a little faster. Could've run more instead of walk, but pretty happy overall.
Bike
  • 52m 18s
  • 18 miles
  • 20.65 mile/hr
Comments:

Felt like I really pushed it on the bike. Kept cadence high and stayed aero most of the race.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing really. I went as hard as I could while still being able to run.
Transition 2
  • 00m 58s
Comments:

Pretty quick T2, probably could've grabbed a water on the way out as the run course was very hot.
What would you do differently?:

Grab a water before running on a hot course.
Run
  • 25m 11s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 08m 07s  min/mile
Comments:

Just could not have moved my legs any faster. They felt heavier than they ever have. Really just held on until the finish.
What would you do differently?:

More training and speed work to get to that 7 min/mile speed.
Post race
Warm down:

I took off my timing chip and got ready for the cold beer.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Not staying as strict on training (especially swimming) in the weeks before the race. Considering my training I went as fast as my body would allow, so I can't complain at all.

Event comments:

This race is very organized and has some great perks....BEER! This will definitely be an annual event to make.
