Pre-race routine:

Ate half a bagel and some peanut butter and a banana. Then headed over to the race shortly before it (mistake).
Event warmup:

Stood in line to pick up my bib number. Chatted with a friend and the people around me.

Comments:

Well I started over a minute and a half after everybody since I made the naive decision to show up only 15 minutes before the race expecting to pick up my bib number after registering online. Actually kind of fun, spent the whole race picking people off, really motivating. Definitely PR'ed by 10k by alot. Then finished, grabbed water bottle and walked back to the start line for the 5k. Paced that the same as my 10k, which was super difficult. Overall a fun day!!
What would you do differently?:

Show up earlier for the check-in to not have to start late and carry my bib number the whole way since they ran out of safety pins.
Post race
Warm down:

Stretched, grabbed some fruit and water, walked back to the car.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I think on the 10k, nothing limited me. But running the 10k right before the 5k definitely limited performance on the 5k. Felt strong for the most part though. Fun races!
