Pre-race routine:

Woke up early, had a bowl of oatmeal and a 5hr energy(instead of coffee). I have been sick for the past few days so I had to deal with some stomach issues, leaving me a bit dehydrated and weak before the race. We drove down to La Porte and got set up for the race.
Event warmup:

Ran about a mile nice and easy.

Comments:

It didn't take long for me to realize that I could push as hard as I did a couple of months ago. I lost a lot of that top end speed. This felt a lot harder than it was.
What would you do differently?:

Train?

Comments:

Pretty quick here. I'm fairly pleased
What would you do differently?:

Remember to tape my Gu to the bike instead of having to stick it in my shorts!

Comments:

Once again, my lack of fitness was obvious fairly quickly. I couldn't push very hard and just had to keep it steady. I felt like I was fighting the cross wind for most of the ride. My calves started to cramp near the end.
What would you do differently?:

Once again, train more, especially riding in the aero position. I've been riding in large groups too much that don't give me opportunities to train in my bars.
Transition 2

Comments:

Pretty quick again.

Comments:

It took me a mile to get the cramps in my calves worked out, but fortunately they're used to running. Considering how little training I've done, I'm fairly pleased with this run and I think that with a little more training I could go much faster. By this point the heat was out and the humidity was a killer. I tried to keep it steady but was very happy to see the finish.
Post race
Warm down:

Ice towel over the shoulders, massage and get out of the sun!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I just need to get back into doing real training. I've been running and cycling, but not with any intensity. I also need to take some electrolyte replacements.

Event comments:

Good race for a fairly small venue. I like the location. The course wasn't great, but it was well supported and safe. I'd do this again.
