Swim
Comments: Didn't have a good feel during the catch of my stroke. Haven't done any swim training all year and haven't had a swim in a race in two months. Didn't feel great, but there weren't many people ahead of me during the swim so I'm happy with it. Tried to take it easy so I wouldn't be tired and felt good out of the water. What would you do differently?: Just need to practice swimming a little more. Transition 1
Comments: The mount line was moved up over the hill, but I didn't know that until the race so I put on my shoes in transition. If I had known I would have left them on my bike which could have saved me a couple seconds. It was a little sloppy, but not bad. What would you do differently?: left shoes on bike. Bike
Comments: Tried to hold back a bit and managed to do so for most the bike. I rode with two other guys in my age group for most of the ride so that was nice. I would be faster on the flats/downhills, but the uphills are still my weakness. Pushed a little too hard with about 2 miles to go, but managed to recover before the run. Transition 2
Comments: Long run to the rack. No major mistakes. Run
Comments: Felt good until the last .75 miles. Everyone was spaced out during the run and I was the 9th guy from the first wave. Managed to pass one guy What would you do differently?: Nothing. Happy that I am steadily improving my run. Post race
Warm down: got a gatorade at the finish and walked around and watched Kate finish. Event comments: Very well run race. Great course. Will be back. Last updated: 2010-06-10 12:00 AM

Woke up at 6:30. Left the house at 7. Got to lake anna around 8:30. Picked up our packets, set up our bikes, checked out the transition exits.
Moved the legs and arms around a little. Got in the water a couple minutes early to float around before the start.
