Run
Comments: My left hamstring bothered me from the start. I knew if I pushed things I would get into trouble. I tried to just run a steady pace. I was hoping it would loosen up but it never did. That all said, I was still 1.6 seconds/mile faster than last year. What would you do differently?: I was really training for the SWAT triathlon two weeks ago and wasn't really ready for this race. I hadn't done a long run for 4 weeks prior to this race. I need to work on getting more mileage over the winter and focus on better stretching. Post race
Warm down: Jogged back to the car and got my warm-ups on and went back to watch my sister finish. This was here first race over a 5k. What limited your ability to perform faster: Left hamstring. Overall poor conditioning for half marathon. Both hamstrings were still sore from two weeks ago. Event comments: This is an exceptionally well organized race. Last updated: 2010-06-13 12:00 AM

I got up around 3:30 and had some breakfast.
Before I left for the race, I did some yoga stretches. My left hamstring is definitely a problem. I decided to take 3 ibuprofen before the race. I usually don't like to do this as it masks possible problems, but I figured this is the last race of the season and I can take some time off after the race.
