Pre-race routine:

This was my first triathalon so i was't sure exactly what time to show up. My wave was supposed to start at 7:36 so i showed up at 6. I probably should have gotten there a little bit earlier because it was already pretty crowded. I also didnt have time to do a swim warm-up before the warm-up area closed.

Just two days before the race my goggles started leaking so i had to get some new ones the day before the race so i didnt have time to try them out. BIG MISTAKE. They ended up leaking part way though the swim which made the swim a horrible experience when it didnt have to be. I swam with my eyes closed except for when sighting and i did ok. I managed to stay with the pack. Definitely would have done a lot better with proper goggles though.

Everything went good except for i fogot to take my gu with me, which i guess doesnt matter too much in a sprint. I also forgot my race belt but luckily realized after i had only gone a few steps.
What would you do differently?:

Next time maybe lay everything out in plain sight so i dont forget everything.

I felt that i got much more tired out then i should have on the bike. I usually bike much farther than the race distance so i dont know what tired me out so much. Part way though i felt like throwing up so i slowed down for a bit and it went away. Passed a few people, got passed by a few. Overall it was ok.
What would you do differently?:

Get better bike hahah

I felt pretty good about my run. I ran the whole time and passed a lot of people. Also passed lots of people walking so that made me feel pretty good. Dont think i was going super fast though.

Warm down:

My warm down was eating the chocolate ice cream that was provided!

Event comments:

Overall it wasn't as good as i had hoped. I was slightly disappointed with how i did. However, it feels good that i can now say that i am officially a Triathlete! I also beat a guy that i knew from a swim class tee hee. Thanks to all the volunteers!! I felt that the race was pretty well run.
