Pre-race routine:

Terrible. was really rushed due to getting there with 25 miuntes to start. Parking was a 10 minute walk. had to register then set up 2 transition areas as bike finished in a different spot to start. Literally made it to allotted swim start with 2 minutes to go. Mind was at 6's and 7's, no time to prep, stretch or visualise up coming race.

pool was too small for the amount of people that were taking part. you had to do 4 lengths per lane and there were at times 10 people in a lane. ended up swimming over, through and round people

transition 1 was a tight area that you were not allowed to enter until 15 minutes before your swim start. space was tight on racks

Fairly tough course with plenty of hills. due to rushed start and aggro filled swim, mind was not on the ride to start with

no riding in week leading up to race left me un prepared

run was tough on leg sapping grass. had some great support from other runners and completed last 2 laps with 2 other people. this is the area i need to really improve on. i dont enjoy it

Course: quite hilly on first half with a constant uphill gradient for first 4 km. couple of steep inclines at mid point, followed by flat fast section with a nice short but steep downhill. final 500m are a sharp steep uphill into the lap end point Course was a 2 lap loop of route
