Swim
Comments: I loved this pool, loved the way it was set up. I did have to pass 9 people and that slowed me down, but it wasn't stressful whatsoever. I gained a lot of confidence from the passing of others. I reported a swim time of 9:30, but I can swim it 2 minutes faster, I can learn from this. What would you do differently?: More accurately report my swim time, not fudge it. Swim more in prep, but not much more, I'm VERY happy with how this went. I swam freestlye, then backstroke, then freestyle, etc. I enjoyed this. Transition 1
Comments: Things went very well. Glad I purchased some Oakley's . They were helpful during the race. What would you do differently?: I need to purchase some real gear. I wore my swimsuit with shorts over top of them, but the shorts kinda got in the way during the race. I need to get this taken care of in the next 2 weeks and practice. Bike
Comments: I forgot my water bottles in the freezer, so I had to buy a big bottle of water and use that. However, after the 1st time I took a drink the bottle fell out of the holder. I had no more water during the bike! Shifting today was incredible and it feels so great when you pass somebody on a 4,000 bike with your average bike. I am grateful for the use of the bike from a friend. What would you do differently?: Train on the bike more and less in the weight room on the stationary. Have the water bottles would have been nice! I need to purchase those shorts with padding in them- ouch the bones in my backside ache! Transition 2
Comments: I had to use the restroom during T2 and I didn't wear my sunglasses on the run. I had to make the big decision to either struggle to put on the Vibram 5 finger shoes for the run or the typical Asics. It was an easy and correct decision to wear the Asics. The surface would have been rough for the Vibrams. What would you do differently?: Maybe train more with the Asics on, on don't do that ever! I love the Vibrams. Run
Comments: My goal was a sub 30 minute run (my first Tri I ran a 33:30), and I finished in 28:46, so that was achieved! I also was determined not to walk at all, and that was achieved! I tapped into all my spiritual power and mental power to do the run- thank you God, Grandpa and Grandpa, and so many more. What would you do differently?: Train with Asics. Start my patented sprint about 15 yards earlier. Post race
Warm down: Act silly, drink water, walk around, thank God, hug my wife! What limited your ability to perform faster: I improved drastically from my 1st Tri to this one and I am so proud. Can I be faster, of course! I can train harder and smarter. The major thing I can do is eat differently, this is my biggest challenge at this point, and one that I'm in the process of. I can lose 15 or more pounds and some body fat- And I Will. Event comments: The strengths of this race is the bike route and the friendly staff. The only things I would change would be to offer water somewhere during the bike path and the Northpointe members are rude- but you guys can't control that! Awesome, I can't wait to do this again next year. Well done and great shirt! Last updated: 2010-06-13 12:00 AM

Woke up at 5:15, drank water, took shower. 5:40 ate a very little trail mix and a very small bowl of cereal, drank water. Arrived o race, got marked, set up T1, drank water. Went to pre race meeting, drank Nitric Oxide mix with water (2 scoops of Nitro). No warm up physically.
Spend time with my wife, thank God for everything. Always saying great and positve things to myself, visiualizing things going well. Use the bathroom about 4 times!
