Swim
Comments: I was actually worried about this for many reasons. First I've swam exactly twice since the ironman on Nov. 7. Once in a pool for about an hour and once at DonkeyMan for 300m. This was 880m. So I jumped in and took off and just swam. It was easy. Like riding a bike but only in the water and without wheels and pedals. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Transition 1
Comments: Fuggin' wetsuit would NOT come off my feet, and then I had to stuff it into the bag but of coruse it kept unfolding. Finally I had to slow down and just easssse it in. What would you do differently?: Get a wetsuit stripper. Bike
Comments: I love riding my bike out in the country, especially will other triathletes around so I kind of took it easy and enjoyed the scenery. It was hilly but I remembered that from last year. What a great little course and a nice day for a ride. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Transition 2
Comments: This took a little while longer than I wanted for no real reason. I chatted up the lady next to me for a second and then changed shoes. I dont recall doing it but I apparently put my bike shoes in the plastic bag that housed my running shoes and threw my bike helmet over toward my T-bag. Odd. What would you do differently?: Go faster? Run
Comments: A little run through the neighborhoods of Lake in the Hills, then along a little path then into some more hoods and such. Good run, a bit hillier than I'm used to though. What would you do differently?: Run faster. I know I had more in me, I just kind of slacked because I didn't want to ... I dont know why. I could've gone sub-7 if I'd just kicked it up a notch or two dammit. Post race
Warm down: Walked over to the food tent and got an orange and a bagel. Then had a massage which was nice. What limited your ability to perform faster: Nothing. Event comments: Great race. I would recommend it to anybody. I love the people, the course and the town. I would like a medal, though. ;) Last updated: 2010-06-14 12:00 AM

Woke up and showered and waited for NRG to arrive. She did at about 430, loaded up my bike and off we went. Stopped for water and Gatorade and a muffin and then to the race site.
Rode our bikes from the parking lot to T2, set that up, then over to T1. Swam a little in the lake to get my hair wet. That lake is murrr-ky! Still a good place to swim I reckon. Watched the early waves take off and saw some people struggling. Sigh that used to be me back in the day.
