Swim
Comments: I was happy with my result. I started training for tri's at the beginning of April. I surf but was never a swimmer. I've done maybe 10 ocean swims and a half dozen workouts with the masters club, but I'm just now getting to be able to finish the workouts. I'm making progress and am stoked.. What would you do differently?: Train more Transition 1
Comments: Didn't realize I was that slow. Definitely could have picked it up... What would you do differently?: Hurry. Bike
Comments: All through the bike I was worried about the run. I was happy with my gear changes and was looking forward to the tailwinds on the way back. I haven't been doing much riding since I've been trying to get a good running base. Mostly trainer time then into a run workout. My confidence picked up over the course and I found myself pacing harder and still feeling comfortable. What would you do differently?: Get better running so I don't have to worry about it on the bike segment.. Transition 2
Run
Comments: I had run 7 miles once before the race (on a treadmill). I've been trying to pace below 10 min. miles. I had some cramping problems and walked 5 or 6 times. That being said, I stoked that I finished as fast as I did. I wasn't expecting to do as well. Post race
Warm down: Took a walk across the field and back. A little bit of stretching. What limited your ability to perform faster: I haven't put in enough training...2nd triathlon ever Event comments: My friend got me into tri's in April. He had his eyes on the Tinman. I'm sorry he couldn't do it this year, but glad he put the idea into my head. Nothing like a goal to keep you moving. Last updated: 2010-06-17 12:00 AM

I like a solid breakfast: oatmeal, blueberries, walnuts and flax baby. Drive to the event. Gel before the swim, light stretching.
