Total Time = 59m 15s
Overall Rank = 360/733
Age Group = Male 25-29
Age Group Rank = 61/95
Pre-race routine:

Bagel for breakfast, plenty of water, banana and balance bar about 60 minutes pre-race.
Event warmup:

Light stretching, especially the calves. Some short jogging. Tried not to stand too much. 2 mile walk from the car was enough of a warmup. Had to hit the port-a-pot three times, but didn't feel the urge to go at all during the race.

Comments:

Tried to stay with the 4:10 marathon pace group until they split off. They got a little ways ahead of me on the big hill, but then when it leveled off and started downhill I caught back up with them before they split off at mile 3. Had to will myself through the 4 mile mark, and after that the run felt great all the way to finish. I had enough left in me to sprint the last 100 yards in (and probably more).

Beat my goal time by 45 seconds!
What would you do differently?:

Just need to work on settling into a pace and knowing what that pace is while running.
Post race
Warm down:

LaRosa's pizza and Beer. Mmmm.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Self-doubt and hesitation. While I was pretty wasted at the end, I think I could have pushed harder throughout the run, and there was one stretch I definitely felt to be going slow.

Event comments:

Great place for a race!
