Swim
Comments: The swim was actually a nightmare for me. All my pool training went right out the window in the open water - it’s just so different. I was actually shocked how good my time was given my issues in the water. What would you do differently?: I need to practice sighting and figure out why I don't naturally swim straight. I pull to the right BIG TIME. I swam a lot more distance than necessary which slowed my time. Transition 1
Comments: A little slow time wise. I acutally had trouble finding my bike rack which cost me a bit of time. What would you do differently?: I was so concerned about the swim and getting my wetsuit on that I forgot to make sure I knew exactly which bike rack was mine. Easy to fix next time. Bike
Comments: Solid bike results for me. Slower than I'd like my pace to be but the hills really make it tough. I was only able to go 8-9mph up the big hill for large streches of time. What would you do differently?: Get stronger on hills. In general I just need to ride more than twice a week, and much more than 30 miles per week. Transition 2
Comments: Very happy with this. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Run
Comments: This was a GREAT run for me following my longest swim leg in 5 years and a very tough bike course. I'll take anything close to 8m 30s mile pace which is what I posted. Excellent for me. My Baltimore Half training really helped this part of the race. What would you do differently?: The more I run the faster I'll get. It's working - I just need to stick with it. Post race
Event comments: I had a ton of fun at this race and would love to come back next year. It's very unique in terms of Tri events with the hilly bike course. Coming on the heals of the TDF make the climbs interesting. Last updated: 2010-06-21 12:00 AM
