Comments:

Went way off course on the swim to the first bouy and then also off course after rounding the 1st bouy. By the second bouy I had sorted out my sighting and was swimming straighter and catching people.
What would you do differently?:

Sighted a lot better. I feel like I wasted 3-4 minutes with the extra distance I swam. That 3-4 minute difference would have put me in the top 10 overall if I had done the swim better.

Got stuck a little in the wetsuit but not too bad for the first time using one. For some reason could not get clipped in and wasted 30 seconds probably before I really got going on the bike.

Pretty happy with the bike segment. I lost my pace towards the end but was with a fast group that was passing a lot of people up until the last 3 or so miles.
What would you do differently?:

Get more miles in on the bike. I caught a lot of the group that left me during the run so I know if I could've hung with them, I had a better chance of catching up with the leaders.

Should've spent the time to put on socks, or need to get shoes made for sockless running. Had some painful blisters towards the end of the run which didn't help with my pace. Also forgot to get my shoes out of the bike shoes and ran in my cleats. Probably looked stupid and another few seconds I could shave off transition.

Had a good overall pace at the end, mostly because I went out fast (6:30 pace). By the end I was having a hard time mentally pushing myself, not helped by blisters from no socks, and fell to a 8-8:30 pace.
What would you do differently?:

Wear socks or get some Zoots or similar shoes.

Overall happy with the race. I know I can swim better and look forward to being closer to the front finishers in the next race in July. Also, something goofed up with the timing, never registering my chip so I didn't have official times for anything, so hopefully that doesn't happen again next race.
