My frigging left shoe fell off my frigging bike when I went to slip my foot in.

Double check that shoes are properly clipped before race.

Iliosacral killing me after about 8 miles.

I thought that I had gotten a flat at mile 6. It was just a weird sound coming out of the car that was passing me.

Stupid cop at last turn was not helpful. He had partially obscured the turn sign, and gave no indication which was was the correct route. After taking the CORRECT TURN I doubled back to the cop to make sure that I was going the right way. It took him about one minute to tell me that the rest of the bikes had gone down that same road. The rest of the cops were awesome.
What would you do differently?:

Ignore sounds and the cops (didn't I just say this 2 weeks ago at Eagleman?) Put more climbing into my rides.

Event comments:

I love the guy that runs this race, and appreciate his efforts to put races in places that need them, but we really need to get some bodies (volunteers) behind the effort. Also, I think that trying to run 4 races (Int'l, Sprint, Du, and Kids [kids was cancelled]) was a little ambitious for year one.

Course: No way did I run 6.2 miles in 45 minutes. My PR was 51:00. Ridiculously hilly run course. I redlined while walking up the first hill.
