Swim
Comments: I was bib #324 so had wait for everyone in front of me first (1 person every 5 sec). Jumped up and down as I got closer to try and elevate HR. Had some trouble seeing the buoys and had to correct my course a few times, but overall I felt good on teh swim. I dont believe anyone past me and I passed several. What would you do differently?: Not much. If there is option to warm up, I would. Transition 1
Comments: A little slow. Socks were a little wet from the rain and hard to put on. I also had some trouble getting wetsuit off. There were strippers, but I still think I was faster than if I used them. What would you do differently?: Not much. Put socks in bag if raining. Towel to dry feet. Bike
Comments: Forgot glasses for ride. Rain made it hard to see. Cranked on first half. Hills coming back were hard, but doable. What would you do differently?: More hill repeats. I really want a tri bike also. Maybe for next year. Transition 2
Comments: Made mistake of taking feet out of shoes before entering T1. Good idea on paper, but forgot I was wearing socks and entrance into transition area was muddy and wet. Oh Well. What would you do differently?: Keep shoes on. Run
Comments: run is my weakest part. But very happy with my results. this is fastest I have run 5mi. I drank too much on bike though and had to pee the entire run. Maybe that made me run faster. Lower Calf started to cramp on last mile. But pushed thru it since I dont have another race for a while. What would you do differently?: More running. Post race
Warm down: drank water. Walked around. It was still raining so stayed fairly cool. Event comments: Great Race and will do this again next year. I did the Time Trial as well, but may do Lord of the Flies next year (Time Trial, International and Sprint). Last updated: 2010-06-26 12:00 AM

Never really slept, but got out of bed around 5am. Felt awful. Bad headache and not really able to eat. Took some Advil and forced myself to eat a bowl of cereal, a yogurt and some coffee. Rode bike to event (less than 1 mile away from where I was staying).
Set up transition area and then it started to pour. Put tarp over area.
Put on wetsuit, ate a small cliff bar and headed to swim start.
None Really. Rode bike to event, but that doesnt really count since it was so close.
