Swim
Comments: Not too bad a swim, IMO. Arms were tired going into it, and the hot water didnt help. Did good fighting for position right off the start, and good sighting and rounding buoys. Goggles filled with water within minutes of starting, so I was swimming blind mostly, especially going into the sun. Came out hot and not feeling good What would you do differently?: Check goggles for leaks, push harder, especially towards the end and the run to transition. Transition 1
Comments: Terribly cramped T-zones. Went as fast as I could, shoes on, run bike to mount and jumped on. What would you do differently?: Nothing, I am almost always pleased with my T times Bike
Comments: A bit of uphill slowed me down right out of the park. At that moment, I think I mentally gave up on the race. I knew I wasnt going to perform my best that day, so I figured I would have fun with it. Pushed but not to the point I was ever uncomfortable. Came back into the park ready for the race to be over, but knowing I still had a run to do. What would you do differently?: Concentrate more and trust your fitness. I could have easily knocked 3 minutes of my time if I would have pushed harder. Transition 2
Comments: Walked briefly, not because I was tired, but because I had to think about what the hell I was doing. Felt disoriented. Whatever, it was still a good T time. Run
Comments: Could not move faster. I dont think I would have wanted to either. It wasnt as hilly as I was warned, but the hills at the campgrounds were pretty brutal. By the time my legs felt alright, the run was over. What would you do differently?: I have having slow run times. I want to get to 21 minutes by the end of the year. Very disappointed with the run times. Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: Training volume from the past week. I think I am quickly realizing things that Coach Dan had said to me: you cant race well if you train all the time, and you cant train well if you race all the time. Your body just cant handle it. In addition, I think I am realizing that I can not do short course races and long course at the same time and excel at both (at least not at my current level of fitness). I am training myself to go long, and in control, not sprinting. Plus, I am always fatigued. I hope to be in better shape for Mistletoe, but based on how I feel now and that Mistletoe is a week after Cardinal Harbour, things are not looking good. Event comments: Tri the Parks always puts on good events. Last updated: 2010-06-28 12:00 AM

Bagel, Infinit, Powerbar on the drive down. Got there with plenty of time to setup, but packet pickup lines were long. Took 5 minutes to prep transition, went down to the water.
None aside from some light stretching
