woke up 4:30 am, toast, coffee, packed, out the door by 5:15, at rate site by a little after 6am

overall rank data appears off, a few people went off in the wrong waves, felt OK during swim, on same course last year, swam 6:04 and was 5th overall in the swim, so I slowed a bit, started on the right and for the first 1/3 or so of the course, was getting bumped quite a bit

felt OK, need to verify race results with Garmin, faster course than the last race, traffic since was in the 3rd wave, slower time than last year, but course may have been longer

good run, felt comfortably hard, passed a few people, passed a guy from Masters swimming group with 1/2 mile to go, he passed me back with 200 yards or so to go, was about 20 sec behind another competitor in my age group

ranks may be off, noticed in the results a couple of participants only completed 1 lap, faster than last year by 40 sec or so
What would you do differently?:

not much, first mile felt about right pace, second was a little slower, need to verify data on third,

walked, ate banana, drank water

What limited your ability to perform faster:

could not have gone much harder, bumped on swim, in wrong gear on a hill or two on bike, run went OK
