Swim
Comments: Water was very pleasant - did not push it at all just cruised. Got a bit of water in my goggles but just dealt with it. What would you do differently?: Learn about drafting, work arms more and learn to breathe properly Transition 1
Comments: Had troubles getting my wet suit off, have to practice, my time was really bad. Must set up better What would you do differently?: I changed into a bike shirt, should have just had it on under the wetsuit. Overall took to long I need to set up better. I really lost a lot of time here. Bike
Comments: Computer went haywire after about 18 miles so I have no stats. It was really wet, stinging rain, it could only have been worse with hail. I went at a good pace for the conditions. I made sure I ate plenty and did not feel empty at any time. Transition 2
Comments: I took the time to change into a pair of dry running socks - YES it had stopped raining, this was a bi must for me for comfort. What would you do differently?: Run faster but in this case it was slippery and on a downhill Run
Comments: Felt like I wasn't moving when we started, then got into my rythem. Finished strong as I ran in with Jimmy and we pushed each other, last mile was a 7 min mile What would you do differently?: push a bit harder Post race
Warm down: usual stretches What limited your ability to perform faster: weather, inexperience in T1 & T2 Event comments: Very nice race, try to book the cabins at Lake Anna, they only have 10 cabins but it is very close to the race start 1.4M Cabins are new and very nice but basic. (had a very bad night as Alex was sick and up most of the night) hardly slept. Also did not know how would put my wet suit on as I had only practiced putting it on when it was wet and this was hard (DO NOT WET the wetsuit, it just slides on)
