Swim
Comments: FIRST OPEN WATER SWIM IN A TRI. THE CURRENT ASSISTED US A LOT. FIRST TIME IN A WETSUIT, I LIKED IT. SWAM 1ST HALF OF IT FREESTYLE AND THE REST BACKSTROKE. What would you do differently?: I NEED TO GET A COACH AND I NEED TO SWIM LONGER AND DEVELOP A FREESTYLE THAT SHOWS IMPROVMENT. Transition 1
Comments: I wasn't on the clock, since I was on the team as a swimmer. However, I did the entire race and timed myself. Transition wasn't timed, I'm estimating and I took my time. What would you do differently?: Have bike facing other way, have helmet ready. Bike
Comments: Passed around 10-12, was passed by 5-7. The course was fun but challenging. What would you do differently?: Keep pushing harder, no breaks. I'm getting there, I'm getting stronger. I would love to have a great bike- but the one I have is a blessing. Transition 2
Comments: I put on the Vibram five fingers which took over 2 minutes! Everything else was good. I wasn't on the clock so I dogged it some. What would you do differently?: I will buy those shoes I saw at the store- the Vibrams I love but I can't afford that time and frustration. I will keep running faster times in training and do more outside work and longer distances. I also think the sprinting on the football field has helpd- thanks Bruce Anderson. Run
Comments: Best I've ever run and the most fun I've had running. I really kicked that last mile and I did not walk at all, and that thought is starting to leave me- I'm not going to walk ever again (during a Sprint- I did my first one). What would you do differently?: Not wear Vibram Five Finger- only because the time it takes to put them on. Post race
Warm down: Drank water and walked. What limited your ability to perform faster: Me. I had a great race. My swimming is my weakness but I'm improving in all areas. I will increase my expectations, training, and performance. Everything is working the right way- I'm on my way and having fun doing it. Event comments: I love gettin a medal for participation. I was on a team and met some great people- thanks for having me! Progress is right on track, getting better each race! Last updated: 2010-06-29 12:00 AM

Woke up at 4:45 a.m., showered, drank colonix, ate a bagel w/peanut butter. Talked to Sherri (wife) on phone, used RR, drank water, and drove to race.
Talked with my team, repeated positive phrases and thanked God for an awesome day. No stretching and no warmup, besides a 1/2 mile walk to swim point.
