Ate a Cliff bar and drank a bottle of gatorade.

Left the house around 5:30 heading for Mequon

Rode the bike for a couple of miles to loosen up and see some of the course for road conditions.

It was different starting in an early wave and not working through a crowd. It did not leave as much to chase down as a goal during the ride.

The downhill was tough on the calves and the uphill was just tough. I would almost have preferred a more direct route up the cliff.
What would you do differently?:

Need to work bricks into the workouts to be able push the pace following a strong ride.

Warm down:

Walked around talking with some of the other participants.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Need to be ready for the second run and in course with signicant climbs, I need to work hills in to the prep training.

Event comments:

Very well organized for a first time event.

A lot of friendly volunteers. It helps being on a university campus sponsored the athletic department.
