Comments:

SO glad I did this. It was an amazing experience and I couldn't be happier. A few things I learned:
1 - I have the best support system ever - my Mom flew in from Texas, my two roommates and another best friend rooted for me by making signs, having the announcer call out my name, and hanging around for three hours in the 90* weather.
2 - Water AND electrolyte drink on the bike.
3 - I still HATE running.

eventually I will write a longer race review, but this is all I have for now.
What would you do differently?:

Maybe swim a little harder next time. But I couldn't have asked for better for a first time. I was even able to draft for 1/3 there!

Event comments:

Race was good overall. I think distance to T1 is annoying (450m) and dislike that this is included in T1.
Biking course was better than I expected.
Run absolutely sucked since there was no shade and the stations were too far apart and out of cups and/or water/ gatorade. Mile markers were at 2 and 4 (no 6 or last couple meters?).
