Sunny
Total Time = 1h 10m 16s
Overall Rank = 2/64
Age Group = 31-40
Age Group Rank = 1/10
Pre-race routine:

1/2 cup corn flakes
32 oz Poweraide and 24 oz water
Event warmup:

not much of anything other than plenty of stretching
Swim
  • 13m 16s
  • 750 meters
  • 01m 46s / 100 meters
Comments:

time presented prior to race was 11:00, but later learned this was my 750 yd time NOT my 750 M time...so this accounted for what I thought was my poor performance in the water. Plus first time in 50 M long course....not soo many walls to push off.
What would you do differently?:

get in the pool more often....was just the 2nd time in the pool in nearly 6 weeks....due to being too busy, 2 weeks in florida on vac., and the pool being closed a few times.
Transition 1
  • 01m 14s
Comments:

Had a hard time getting shirt on wet body...same with the socks.
What would you do differently?:

drink more water prior to the bike.
Bike
  • 33m 4s
  • 12.43 miles
  • 22.55 mile/hr
Comments:

I felt great on the bike and I was pushing it hard and loved watching my average speed keep climbing the whole race.
What would you do differently?:

drink more on the bike to get ready for the run.
Transition 2
  • 00m
Comments:

Had to run about 100 yds in the transition area with cycling shoes on and when I went to put my running shoes on my calves started to cramp.
What would you do differently?:

drink more water earlier in the race....I didn't drink any during the race until now.
Run
  • 22m 43s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 07m 20s  min/mile
Comments:

Calves were really crampy and tight coming out of the transition area...so I ran pretty slow trying not to push it too hard so I didn't cramp up...that was the last thing I wanted to do. As the run went on my legs felt much better...I should have drank something before and during the bike segment, it was why I was crampy at the beginning of the run. I did feel pretty good by the end of the run.
What would you do differently?:

drink more earlier in the race.
Post race
Warm down:

3-4 bananas and 60-75 oz of water....plenty of walking and a little stretching. Overall I felt pretty good after the race.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

training and lack H2O during the early portion of the race.

Event comments:

Just the 2nd year for the small race, growing and getting better each year
