Swim
Comments: Much better than last year. I seeded myself just right but a bunch of other people didn't. I think I passed three people by the time I finished the second lap. Was 1:22 faster than last year which is pretty big over 300m. What would you do differently?: Maybe seeding myself higher would be a good idea for pool swims since so many seem to over seed themselves? Transition 1
Comments: Not a bad T1, shoes didn't go right on, but wasn't too bad. Rack was a tad tight getting my bike off. Bike
Comments: Enjoyed the ride and as usual probably left a little on the course. What would you do differently?: Not freeze my water bottle... do this sometimes for training rides but I've never had a bottle stay frozen like this one. Drank what I could during the bike and the purple ice cube laughed at me. Up the pace a bit. Transition 2
Comments: First race with my Zoots... love them. What would you do differently?: Not a bad transition. Run
Comments: Started out great sort of fell off around mile 2 and picked it back up. Was really banking on that hydration on the bike since I cut my sports drink with water... the aid station drink was "full" strength. What would you do differently?: Not sure, run wasn't what I had hoped. Post race
Warm down: Water, banana and a bagel. Event comments: Enjoyed it, will probably do again next year. Last updated: 2010-07-05 12:00 AM

Didn't have much to do, small race, not much to take. Got up did my usual breakfast, made breakfast for the family... took off a bit late. Realized I had forgotten my shoes about 10 minutes down the road.
Got there at about 6:55, event was supposed to begin @ 7. Good thing I was slightly familiar with the race and course. Ran to transition with bike, thought I heard something about transition closing in 60 seconds. Set up quick and got marked while my wife got my chip. Not ideal, but it all worked out I guess.
