Swim
Comments: Slow swim. Someone 6 seeds ahead of me told race director his seed time was incorrect...saying that he did so even before race day, and they didn't move him. Passing NOT allowed mid lane. Flip turns allowed. 50M pool. Had a great start with good momentum, but 200M in, caught this guy. Grabbed his feet. Didn't let me pass at wall. Grabbed again. Was sidestroking/breaststroking in the middle of the lane b/c he was moving so slow. Finally just passed mid-lane. Got yelled at by race directors. Note to all swimmers, seed yourself correctly. What would you do differently?: Should've just passed him from the start. Was too nice. Added at least 25 seconds to my time. Transition 1
Comments: Shoes clipped on bike. Long transition run, as had to run out of the pool, around the entire transition area, to bike 1/2 was in. Was so pissed at guy in front of me in pool that I wasn't focusing. What would you do differently?: Work on running mounts. Forget about other people and just go, go, go. Bike
Comments: Need to work on that hill more. Accessible for training. Gear changes are essential to success. Especially when moving towards the downhill. Transition 2
Comments: Still struggling to get shoes in running shoes w/ yanks. Ok transition. Long run in and around w/ bike to go back out for the run. What would you do differently?: Move faster. Less hesitation. Put on hat and belt running out of transition. Run
Comments: Need to move faster. Knew the route, but was getting warm. Need to pour more water on my head when I run to stay cool. What would you do differently?: Take one cup to drink and one to pour. Post race
Warm down: Eat, walk around a bit. Pack up stuff. What limited your ability to perform faster: Swim seed. Slow run. Need to get faster on middle miles. Event comments: Good neighborhood race. Same day as Reston Sprint, so it attracted some racers who would've otherwise been there (if it wasn't filled up). Last updated: 2010-07-08 12:00 AM

Race was close to home, so a quick stop at Starbucks was in order (didn't even get to drink 1/2 of my tall coffee b/f I got there). Parked at a friend's house to avoid the parking drama by the shopping center. Rode bike over with all my junk in my backpack to the transition set up.
Bike ride over. Pool was open for a swim, which was a nice touch. Great to get in the water before hand and stretch out.
