Comments: I went out a little too hard and had to back off. I have never run before biking so I wasn't sure what to expect when I got in the saddle. What would you do differently?: Start a little slower Transition 1
Bike
Comments: The rain made things hard and impacted my time. I also had some problems with my calves feeling like they were about to cramp. I think this might have had something to do with the run before the bike which I had not trained for. I also popped my chain on one of the climbs. It took about a minute or two to fix and restarting on the climb was a big ol pain in the butt. What would you do differently?: I really wished I could have gone faster, just didn't happen on this day. Transition 2
Run
Comments: I was VERY happy with my run. I started a good pace and just kept passing people. I did cramp up badly in my right quad about 500m from the finish which made things interesting, but I pushed through it. Post race
Warm down: Stretched, drank, ate a little bit. What limited your ability to perform faster: RAIN, and having no experience running before a bike. My transitions were a bit slow because I put things in plastic bags and the wetness through off my normal routine. Event comments: I enjoyed the race but on this day, in the rain, the bike course was a bit too tough for me. Last updated: 2010-07-10 12:00 AM
