Total Time = 2h 32m 9s
Overall Rank = 47/210
Age Group = 25-29
Age Group Rank = 6/13
Pre-race routine:

Ate some applesauce, drank water, drove to race, set up T1, rode bus to T2, set up T2, connected with friends.
Event warmup:

Just a little stretching & swimming.
Swim
  • 29m 4s
  • 1640 yards
  • 01m 46s / 100 yards
Comments:

Felt pretty good the whole way - didn't get super tired; tried to draft on a guy the whole second half - either he was swerving or I was. Seemed to help push me though. Swam until I could touch the ground.
What would you do differently?:

Practice unzipping my suit - didn't get it until I was standing at my bike!
Transition 1
  • 02m 13s
Comments:

Fumbled with my zipper until I was standing at my bike! Also tore my race number. Didn't get the suit off very quickly.
What would you do differently?:

Practice unzipping my suit and getting it off. Reinforce my bib.
Bike
  • 1h 09m 30s
  • 24.85 miles
  • 21.45 mile/hr
Comments:

Taped my helmet vents - help? I dunno. Felt pretty good the whole way. Passed more than passed me, especially on hills. Made sure I didn't push too hard - especially last couple miles. Dropped an endurolyte toward the end - may have hurt me in the hot run.
What would you do differently?:

Tape my gels & electrolyte tabs on the bike.
Transition 2
  • 00m 42s
Comments:

16th fastest out of 210. No problems. Got off bike while moving (shoes on).
Run
  • 50m 38s
  • 6.21 miles
  • 08m 09s  min/mile
Comments:

Ran out of gas. Didn't have energy the whole run. Didn't get a side ache (was borderline most of the time). Just didn't have the endurance to keep a strong pace.
What would you do differently?:

Longer training sessions. My runs in training were strong, but I never trained more than 1:45 in a day - which is about when I tanked in this race.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked, drank water, tried not to pass out! (ears were muffled, speech was slurred at one point). Ate.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Training time - not enough weeks to get the endurance.

Event comments:

2nd time doing the race - hope to do it again. It's a good one!
