Swim
Comments: I thought I swam better today than yesterday, but fatigue must have been showing. What would you do differently?: Swim harder. Transition 1
Comments: Way faster than yesterday. What would you do differently?: Nothing Bike
Comments: I could feel the past two days taking their toll. The bike segment today did not feel any shorter than yesterday. What would you do differently?: Ride harder. Not have a fun day yesterday Transition 2
Comments: No laces makes a difference. No rain also helps. What would you do differently?: Nothing Run
Comments: Fast I guess. Garmin measured the course short a bit. I left transition with another guy, I was announced leaving as was he, they said he had won two local road races. He took off and was gone. I saw a few leaders on their way back in, and chased down 1 guy early otherwise I just ran alone. It is far easier to chase. I was maybe 20th OA to finish. What would you do differently?: Run faster. Post race
Warm down: Muscle Milk. Waited for volunteers to leave massage tent so I could get in. Hung out ate food. Went back to the hotel. My girlfriend and daughter hit up the pool while I packed. Then drove home. What limited your ability to perform faster: This was a C-series for me. I had an awesome time, and would love to race it again. Tons of fun, but more vacation than race. I had almost 2 beers each day, pizza Friday night and random food Saturday. I was also swimming and hiking with my daughter. I was not as serious as the overall winners. As a result it was some of the best racing I have ever had. I was 24th started each day and got to chase down a few people each day and had a few people pass on the bike. It was nice to race at the pointy end of the field, I could not imagine starting later on. Event comments: Plan on returning next year.
