Swim
Comments: Good start, very relaxed. After first couple hundred yards never got back into groove. What would you do differently?: Stay relaxed and just focus on own breathing. Transition 1
Comments: Horrible. Planned on taking time and it showed. One Gu prior to bike. What would you do differently?: Have a sense of urgency. Bike
Comments: Felt pretty good. Hadn't rode that long in two years or done any hill work. Seven people passed me at the beginning. I ended up passing 19 for a +12 exchange. One serving carbo pro. Two waters. What would you do differently?: Rode the course the next day again. Would have pushed harder in the first 3/4. Was worried about the hills and the killer run at the end. Transition 2
Comments: Second fastest in age group. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Run
Comments: Toughest run I have ever done - in training or a race. Did not get to look at course prior to race. VERY steep hills (up an down) and lots of trail running. I was happy with my performance. Lots of people were walking the hills. I started to after a bit on the narrow trail sections. Passed 13, no one passed me. Water and HEED at every station except the last. What would you do differently?: Not walk - could have powered through but there was so much unknown for me with this course that I didn't want to bonk. Post race
Warm down: Stretch, change, massage, eat and attend awards. What limited your ability to perform faster: Lack of training. Lack of hills. Lack of altitude. Started at 7600' and went up. Event comments: Great race. Beautiful location. Support was awesome. No long lines for anything - potties, massage or food. Last updated: 2010-07-11 12:00 AM
