Swim
Comments: Nice controlled pace. Pace was just right. Drafting was almost impossible... water too murky, catching swimmers from previous waves (slower traffic... made it tough to find anyone to draft. What would you do differently?: Started about third row back and should have started on the front and tried to draft faster swimmers in my wave. Transition 1
Comments: Felt smooth. Lot's of Body Glide and the suit came off very fast. Did not try to start with shoes on bike. Most importantly, I arrived very early in the am and racked my bike at the closest end of the aisle. What would you do differently?: Probably need to practice starting with shoes on the bike. Bike
Comments: Felt good about the pace. Just right. Went as hard as I could without totally working my legs for the run. Transition 2
Comments: Shoes were dragging on the ground after dismount... I need more practice here. Everything else was fast and smooth. Run
Comments: Felt good. The training in hills has really helped me keep my pace up wherever the course turned up a bit. This killed me last year. What would you do differently?: Bring more speed-work into my run training to get my pace up. Post race
Warm down: None What limited your ability to perform faster: More speed work needed in training for all disciplines. Event comments: This race went very smooth this year. Issues that were problems last year (multiple long lines on race morning) were addressed beautifully! (there were no lines at all on race morning). Last updated: 2010-07-12 12:00 AM
