Pre-race routine:

4am wake up. Gatorade, fruit, and cereal on the drive up.
Event warmup:

I was in the second to last wave so sat around for an hour and did a 100M swim to warm up.

Took over 5 minutes off my swim from last year, still not speedy but pretty good for me.

Swim competitively when I was a kid.

Lost my front derailleur in the first mile but I was in the small ring so fortunately I could still climb. Got down to 4 mph on the worst of the climb but no walk of shame. I couldn't peddle at more than 24 mph without the large ring so I just had to coast until I slowed down. All in all pretty happy with this part.

Started to overheat about half way through the run but pretty happy otherwise. The ice on the run was a lifesaver, just kept putting it down my shirt.

Just more training...as always.
