Age Group Rank = 7/12
Pre-race routine:

Warning: English is not first language ;)

I woke up at 4:30AM (30 minutes ahead of alarm clock), and then I went straight to the kitchen to have my first meal (2 Wheat Bagels, with PB, and water). Put the rest of the stuff in my truck and headed to the race site that was around 1 hour from my house.
Event warmup:

Nothing special. I swam a little bit plus some stretching.
Swim
  • 31m 37s
  • 1760 yards
  • 01m 48s / 100 yards
Comments:

I am really stoned about this time because 3 months ago, I could not swim for my life! Also, I understand that the wetsuit is helping me a little bit here but I'm still pretty happy with that time!!!!

Note: There were a bunch tools pulling me by the ankle, and actually the guy next to me was asking for help... How bad do they really want to win or save a couple of minutes? is it really that worth it?
What would you do differently?:

I definitely need to work on my swimming without the wetsuit.
Transition 1
  • 00m
Comments:

Easy, no problems at all!
What would you do differently?:

Next time I am going to ride the bike with no socks, and I will save the them for T2 so my feet are a little bit cleaner and drier too.
Bike
  • 1h 14m 10s
  • 24 miles
  • 19.42 mile/hr
Comments:

The course was pretty much flat, clean, and easy. The only problem is that you have to do 4 laps... After the second lap I got lost mentally and let off the pace.
What would you do differently?:

I need HTFU mentally and put the hammer down the whole time.
Transition 2
  • 00m
Comments:

Very quick transition, but I am going to change my strategy for the next race.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing.
Run
  • 51m 39s
  • 6.5 miles
  • 07m 57s  min/mile
Comments:

I had pretty good run as usual, and I am still asking to myself why I didn't push it a little bit harder (maybe because the blister on my right foot). Pass tons of people, and only one person passed me.
What would you do differently?:

Push harder, and with dry socks I shouldn't have any blister problems.
Post race
Warm down:

Walk around.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I need to get tougher mentally.

Event comments:

This was my first Olympic distance, and even tho I know I can do better; I am pretty happy with the result.
