Swim
Comments: I totally relaxed on the swim, which is my hardest event. I just swam like I did in training and it turned out to be a blast. Passed a few people during the swim. Didn't get hung up behind tons of people like last years 14.06. When I got out of the pool I was surprised at how well I felt. It was definitely the breathing on this swim. What would you do differently?: Not much. Practice dragging the fingertips more. Race video made me look like I was trying to reach for the rafters during my breath stroke. Transition 1
Comments: Came out to T1 running. Had my glasses, race belt and helmet all ready to go. Shoes were attached to bike with a rubber band. Pulled the bike off the rack and ran it to the mount line. Jumped on and was gone. I didn't do any socks or shirt. The best T1 so far. What would you do differently?: Not much. It was a good T1. Bike
Comments: Definitely need to remember to drink something after I get my feet in the shoes. Found myself pushing hard until I remembered to drink. The biking was overall great. I had a decent time on the course. I was thinking that I was going slow but my time was fast for me. What would you do differently?: Drink more. Leave second water bottle at T1. Get some aero bars. (curse you TT riders ;) Transition 2
Comments: T2 was great. I ran the bike back. Racked it, tossed the helmet on my bag, grabbed my running shoes and was off. I think it took me longer to get to the rack than it did to get ready for the run. What would you do differently?: Not take a drink of my water bottle when they have a water point at the exit of T2. Run
Comments: The run was okay. My legs felt a little wonky at the start from the bike. They got warmed up about a mile in. Overall the run was not bad but definitely should have done better. What would you do differently?: run harder. Post race
Warm down: water What limited your ability to perform faster: heat for the run. Probably should try a shirt. Event comments: I love this race. The inaugural race was my very first tri. I will try to do this one every year. Ina and friends do a great job. Last updated: 2010-07-13 12:00 AM

Got up at 5:30. Hit the rest room. Loaded the bikes. Don't remember what I ate, something small. Loaded up eye of the tiger and the Rocky theme song and took pics of my wife as she got ready for her first tri. All-in-all it was a very relaxing pre-race.
swung my arms in giant circles. That's about it. We got there kinda late so I didn't get time on the bike or run to warm up the legs. Will definitely do that next time.
