Run
Comments: Pouring rain, soaked to the bone. This was not a full 3 miles. It is a cold day in hell when I run a 23:35 5k. I am just not a runner. Transition 1
Bike
Comments: We had to dismount 4 times on the metal bridge; they were afraid we would slip on the wet metal. Ever try running across wet, open metal work in bike cleats? Not pretty. I was prepared clothes-wise. I was cold, but I am sure there were colder folks out there. they got hot on the run and stripped down to shorts and no sleeves; bad idea. Transition 2

Post race
Warm down: Warm down indeed!! I was chilled through and through. I changed in the car into dry clothes and I didn't care who saw me. Nothing like stuffed french toast and hot coffee on City Island to bring me back to life. What limited your ability to perform faster: Rain, rain and more rain! OH and cold too! Event comments: Even though I won my AG, it is kind of bittersweet seeing as how half the people didn't show up. I guess I can take pride in the fact that I turned up in crap conditions when everyone else bagged it. Does that make me tough? I'd like to think so ;P thanks to my hubby and son for standing out in the rain to cheer me on! Last updated: 2010-07-14 12:00 AM

Deluge!! Pouring rain. Half the field didn't show up (there was only 103 people who finished) and several dropped out. I won first in my AG of 3, ha!! Got to be in it to win it.
