Swim
Comments: Just relaxed and kept myself breathing regularly. Didn't try to rush. Did have to slow almost to a stop with the traffic in the pool but I finished in exactly the time I swam in practice so was happy. What would you do differently?: Swim a bit harder perhaps. Stay to the outside. Transition 1
Comments: Changed from swim shirt to wicking shirt. Skipped the bike gloves. A little extra time getting socks on as feet were damp. What would you do differently?: Dry feet better. Don't tie laces so tightly. Bike
Comments: Very good pace for me on the hybrid. Passed a good number of people. What would you do differently?: Bring my road bike next time :). Both feet were asleep for a good part of the ride. Only thing I can think of was that I tied the laces too tight in T1 Transition 2
Comments: All I did in T2 was to leave sun glasses on and add my race belt. What would you do differently?: Not much. Run
Comments: Run was about usual for me...terrible. Most of the people who I placed near had runs of 5 to 10 minutes faster so obviously I did well in bike and swim but run lost a lot of ground. It says I was 1592 but there were plenty of others that were "ranked" higher in the run portion. Not sure why the overall numbers aren't as high to match that. What would you do differently?: Have to keep working on the run. The feet were asleep 80% of the time and that killed me. Think I would have improved by several minutes had that not been the case as I had to walk in some places to get them to wake up Post race
Warm down: Did some basic stretching and walked around staying on my feet. Had a water a Gatorade and a bagel. What limited your ability to perform faster: The run. Feet being asleep. Event comments: Race was expensive compared to others I've seen. Also goody bag was awful with basically just a shirt. Last updated: 2010-07-16 12:00 AM
