Swim
  • 16m 3s
  • 656 yards
  • 02m 27s / 100 yards
Comments:

Swm was ok but crowded. I did like having the lanes divided by skill level.
What would you do differently?:

Not sure what I would do differetly if anything. It was a smidge faster than anticipated.
Transition 1
  • 02m
Comments:

The bike was my best event and I felt really good during the ride. Probably could have gone faster but I was worried about the run. Had to go over some dirt before we got on the bike path; a little bumpy but not too bad. Took wrong turn but a fellow biker gave me a shout out, "NO GOOD".
What would you do differently?:

Need bke shoes; some day soon.
Bike
  • 50m 54s
  • 14 miles
  • 16.50 mile/hr
Comments:

I felt great on the bike and confident. Realize I should train a lot harder.
What would you do differently?:

Train with more intensity. And use Chamois creme.
Transition 2
  • 00m
Comments:

This was an easy transition because I didn't have to change shoes.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing
Run
  • 40m 6s
  • 3.2 miles
  • 12m 32s  min/mile
Comments:

My legs cramped immediately. Stopped to stretch but my legs felt like logs. So I jogged and walked. Finally got tired of that and ran at a quicker pace and walked with the same windedness, if thats even a word, but running with more distance achieved than just jogging.
What would you do differently?:

Drink a lot more before setting off to run. I was extremly thirsty by the tme I got to the water station.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked & Stretched. Drank a RockStar Recovery drink.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Not training with intensity.

Event comments:

Being my first race it was absolutely amazing. Just proud to have completed the race! My goal was to complete the race in 2 hrs. I completed the race faster than expected. A great group of volunteers and I even medaled...of course there were only three in my age group, but whatever I got third!!Woot Woot!

Performance: Good
I was a little confused and tried to stay out of the way to no avail. Ended up just swimming down the middle. One person kept going side to side. Concentrated on technique and breathing.
Suit: No
Course: 4 man lane...that was really unusal. The lanes were divided by estimated swim times. I was obviously in the slowest lane with one other person. But at the last min. two women who were fast swimmers got in our lane. Bummer...lots of crashing into eachother and the only man in the lane walked most of it.
