Pre-race routine:

Waited nearly 30 minutes in traffic to park.
Event warmup:

None. A highly entertaining series of obstacles throughout a hilly off-road course. My favorite was crawling over the cars and leaping over the fire walls as it made me feel rather like a superhero. I must say that I also had a spectacular slide down the hill on my butt at the end, receiving many cheers for the distance I progressed.
Post race
Warm down:

Followed the rather misleading "showers" sign, which instead pointed to a large lake where I plunged in and scraped off at least the outer layer of mud from my body, clothes, and banana (which I then ate!)

Event comments:

Lots and lots of fun. Ran/jogged/walked fairly slowly with a friend and enjoyed my time. No real effort to go fast. Awoke the next day to multiple mystery bruises all over my body and some odd aches . . . i.e. arms that I don't usually have.

This is clearly a money making event, but that doesn't detract too much from the sheer enjoyment.
