Swim
Comments: It was definitly tough waiting in line for 40+ minutes before actually getting in the water. And in that waiting time I found I had to pee... again. So I was a bit nervous on the swim because I had to pee. What would you do differently?: I would have a little more confidence, I should have started closer up (but just a little) I am sure I could take a minute off that time if I were to do it all over again. But for my first Tri- I was happy Transition 1
Comments: All in all I was fairly happy with my transition, good running pace to the bike, but because I had to pee I stopped at the port a pottie between the pool and the transition area. What would you do differently?: Not much, I wished I didn't have to stop for that 45 seconds but when you have to go you have to so I won't be upset about it. Bike
Comments: I felt comfortable on the bike. I did not like riding on 75th, just found it to narrow. A lot of slower people that I wanted to pass but I was very concerned about the faster riders behind me on their second loop. What would you do differently?: I feel I may be able to push a little harder, I did not want to run out of steam so I tried to keep a steady pace. Next time I will try and keep my speed above 20 mph the entire time Transition 2
Comments: Curosity got the best of me and I checked my computer to see what my average was which took a few seconds. I had my brother cheering/yelling at me to get my butt moving. I just waved to him (with my middle finger and a smile) What would you do differently?: Results are for the end of the race, I wouldn't wasted time checking the bike computer. Next time it's "Rack and Go" Run
Comments: I was really scared when I first started the run, my left calf felt like it was about to go into a giant ball, but after about a mile it really loosened up and I felt comfortable. What would you do differently?: I would have probably spent more time training after bike riding. I feel with just a little more training I could have been down to 22 minutes Post race
Warm down: Trotted out about quartermile to cheer on my dad and my friend. Had a bannana and a gatorade. Then headed over to Heaven on Seven for one of the brest breakfasts and beer I've ever had. What limited your ability to perform faster: I was really happy with my first Triathlon, I feel if I actually trained for some speed I could really lower my time (at least 10 minutes, maybe more). Mentally I was right where I wanted to be. Event comments: Race overall was very well organized, I did not like waiting 40+ minutes in a line to start the swim, but I guess if I get faster at the swim I can start further up. It did feel like the tents afterwards were just thrown up without any thought, they could better place each tent. I had a great time, I'm sad I won't be doing any more triathlons this year, but look forward to 2011 and breaking a one hour 10 minute sprint triathlong time. Last updated: 2010-07-20 12:00 AM

Woke up at 3:30 AM, had some breakfast, loaded the car and arrived at the transition area just as it was opening up. Set up my area, walked to the port a potties for the first of 3 rounds (nerves must have been getting to me)
Not too much, alot of walking back and forth to the beach.
