Total Time = 1h 04m 8s
Overall Rank = 39/191
Age Group = 55-59
Age Group Rank = 2/4
Pre-race routine:

2 scoops of Infinite Nutrition. 1 tablespoon of almond butter, 1/2 of a banana.
Event warmup:

20 minutes of stretching at home. 5 laps in the pool prior to the start.
Swim
  • 04m 34s
  • 250 yards
  • 01m 50s / 100 yards
Comments:

Very good swim, gave it all I had throughout the 10 laps. Very strong all 10 laps. Little disappointed in my time though.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing, I really gave it all I had.
Transition 1
  • 01m 34s
Comments:

My straps came out on BOTH on my bike shoes today. Cost me a few seconds. Did buy new tri shoes, but will have to get new pedals for my tri bike. They only work on my road bike now.
What would you do differently?:

Use my new tri shoes next year.

With that said though, I did much better than last year's 2:18 T1.
I have a great Transition coach!
Bike
  • 30m 19s
  • 10 miles
  • 19.79 mile/hr
Comments:

Very strong throughout the bike course. Hills were no problem at all, even fun. Hydration was spot on with the Infinite.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing, happy with ride, not so happy I didn't hit 20 mph average.
Transition 2
  • 01m 47s
Comments:

8 Seconds slower that last year. I was in and out pretty quick, only thing I can think of is that I spent too long wiping my feet on the towel with the powder. Don't believe I did that last year.
What would you do differently?:

Be quicker wiping my feet on the towel! Did get a blister on my right foot toe, deep blister. Didn't feel it at all though until I got home and took a shower.
Run
  • 25m 56s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 08m 20s  min/mile
Comments:

Again, felt strong throughout. Managed to get a good cadence going from the start of the race and stayed with it. Legs felt a little "heavy" the first few minutes, but were fine thereafter.
What would you do differently?:

This was a great time for me. Something I had to do to be competitive.
Post race
Warm down:

15 minutes of stretching hamstrings and calve muscles.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Nothing.

Event comments:

Setup events has this down pat. I never worry about an event with their name on it. Great job!!!
