Swim
Comments: ended up with the 2nd fastest swim by 3 seconds. started 5th and within 200 meters had passed the 1st guy whose entry time was messed up, caught the heels of #4 at 200 meters and just hung in his draft for the 2nd 200, passed the #3 guy just before the 350 wall, then right at the finish pulled up along side #4 and got out with him. Then there was a crazy long run across the water park into transition, What would you do differently?: practice swimming...it was my first swim since the last triathlon, and my 4th swim since mudwater...in early june Transition 1
Comments: long run to transition all but 3 people were over 1 min, got to my bike and got helmet on fast grabbed bike and gone, was the first person out of transition. What would you do differently?: nothing Bike
Comments: good bike, held the lead for about 2 miles until kevin nickel (who i had a 30 second head start on) came flying by, then i was by myself for the next lap and a half, after that the road got pretty crowded with lots of bikers out on the course. Had a d bag tuck in behind me and rode my ass for nearly 2 laps, i tried a few surges, but on his road bike he was cornering alot faster than me so he'd catch back on, finally on the last lap i just blasted the legs and pulled away What would you do differently?: train on my bike Transition 2
Comments: ok transition, alot of fumbling that i wasnt to happy with, put the garmin on as i headed out of transition Run
Comments: headed out on the run by myself and was able to just run by myself until 2.3 miles when i had the #4 guy pull up along side me. held with him for a 1/4 mile bu then had to let him go but he wasnt pulling away very fast. Then at 3 miles i saw kelci who told me to just GO! so i decided to risk a upchuck and sprint, ended up catching the #4 guy at the last little turn and blew past him to be the 2nd finisher What would you do differently?: nothing. Fastest 5k since high school cross country. in 2002 Post race
Warm down: sat around a bit, got a shower, put the bike away, had a apple, then continued to sit around for another 1 1/2 hours til awards. Ended up with 1st in my age group and a cool insulated water bottle, and a 15 buck gift card to the bike shop in hutch. Which turned into me buying new cycling gloves Event comments: i'll definately be back next year. It was a blast Last updated: 2010-07-22 12:00 AM

just hopped in the pool for a easy 100, pool was pretty warm then climbed out and got in the crazy long line to get ready for the swim.
