Swim
Comments: My sighting was terrible. It is a jump from the dock start and I got water in my goggles. Since I wear contacts this screwed me up pretty good. Also had problems with fogging. At several points I had to take my goggles off and breast stroke just to see where I was. I had a problem drifting to the left, which really added to the distance I was swimming. What would you do differently?: Not sure how to keep the goggles from fogging. I have a pair of goggles that I don't use often and keep just for races, so that they don't fog up. Not sure I can keep water from getting into the goggles when I have to jump in. Transition 1
Comments: This was one of my better T1's. I setup well and think I executed fine. Bike
Comments: I was able to average 20mph for the first 11.5 miles, which is pretty solid for me. Definitely tired near the end. At mile 12 I had a guy come up on my left and said he had been chasing me since T1. I hung with him for a minute, but wasn't able to stay with him after that (I did pass him on the run though). What would you do differently?: I purchased a new bike about a month ago and it fits much better than my previous bike. It is working some muscles I hadn't been using before. I just need to put more time in the saddle so that I don't get held back by this new weak link. Transition 2
Comments: I set it up well and executed well. Run
Comments: I was hoping to run a low 9:00 mile, so I'm disappointed in this run. I walked a couple of times trying to stretch out sore muscles, but pretty sure it just slowed me down with little to no benefit. What would you do differently?: More bricks. Post race
Warm down: Ate a piece of pizza and killed a bottle of water. Event comments: I headed home after I was done, so didn't rate the post race activities. The drink stations were spread out weird. They had one right out of T2, which seems odd since everyone just had the chance to drink on their bike. If they moved that they could have had a station every mile, which would have been nice. Volunteers were great. Especially the military guys from the Arsenal and the ROTC cadets from a local high school. Really cool they came to help out. Last updated: 2010-07-24 12:00 AM

Ate Honey Nut Cheerios and went to race. Pretty sweet that this race is only 30 minutes from my house.
