Swim
Comments: I was so excited because I was actually in the back of the pack! Swim is my hardest event and I was so excited to be in with other people, I was able to draft a bit. What would you do differently?: Got a bit excited and over-revved a bit, then had to slow down. Would pay attention, swim my own race, keep my own pace. Transition 1
Comments: As I said before, I was so excited by what was for me a stellar swim performance I forgot to pull my arms and torso out of my wetsuit on the way to T-1! Got to my bike and was like, "Oh, crap! I'm still in my wetsuit!" What would you do differently?: Focus! Bike
Comments: Love the bike leg, its my strongest. Only one guy passed me and he was on a time trial bike with a disk wheel, Yeah! Love my Felt bike! What would you do differently?: Go even harder, it is a fast flat course. Transition 2
Comments: Takes me forever to change shoes, I have running shoes that need to be tied. What would you do differently?: Get fast pull lace up shoes. Run
Comments: I am a slow runner but my times this year are better than last year, so I'm happy. What would you do differently?: Keep working on my training program, get faster! Post race
Warm down: Hmmm--walking around with my friends eating, does that count? What limited your ability to perform faster: Training Event comments: Some new folks have purchased Tri Freaks and this is their first year. In post race emails they are working to address concerns that people had about the race and many details. I am impressed with their attention to detail and the response to concerns about the race. I will definintely do this one again. If you've never been to Ocean Shores its a fun little town and this is a nice race, not too big and crazy. Last updated: 2010-07-25 12:00 AM

Broke my pre-race routine as my daughter's bachelorette party was the night before. Normally I have a quiet nite and brown rice and chicken and veggies for dinner. Had a spiced up version of that at the restaurant and got to bed about 11:00pm. In the am, I like to have my cup of coffee and half a whole wheat bagel with almond butter. I
I am always anxious before the swim and I like to get in the water and get warmed up if possible, I think this helps me a lot. I don't usually jog or ride my bike, just try to make sure I have my bike in the gear I want to start in.
