Pre-race routine:

Ummm...first I shouls apologizr to everyonethat I bitched or cried to before the race..ummm...sorry I was a bit ummm stressed:)
This is what happened///so I was driving therer and wanted to stop and go to the bathroom- well nothing was opene anyways, so I get back on the highwey and am on 94 alternate instead of 94. Ok- alittle freaked out but I just turn around and go back. Finally get there its already after 6. Park in the mud. Go to the bathroom :), go to packet pick up and they make me have my USAT card or id. Ummm...well thats in the car. She says you need to go get it. So I head back and dont even really rememeber where I actually parked. Ok so I start to get a little upset. Transition closes at 6:45 my waves at like 7:06 or something... Find my car, grab my card and run back to packet pick up. Finally get my numbers, body marked, chip. Run to find my rack...ummm...not a lot of room here. Oh well, start to throw all my stuff down. So last week if you read my racine 70.3 report you know I lost my aerobar pad, well I still dont have the new ones I ordered so I was(dont laugh) sticking on a cut can cooler with sticky velcro tape- nice- huh? Well its been so humid that it just wasnt sticking. So I get way more upset, jmwebs and djdavey are there. there likeyour fine- daves tryingtotell me Its not gonna fly off....ummmyeah whatever. Then this nice guy close by cleary sees whats going on and has some white athletic tape and totally tapes it up. damn I need to go take a picture- it is classic:) But it worked.
THEN I realized I didnt have a swim cap. Uhhhh.....Jmwebs- says no worries I have some- what color do you want? Awesome! I dont care what color- just give me a cap and we get out as Transition closes.
Ok -- now I feel a bit better. Even have a chance to get in the water.
Event warmup:

ummm..... that was my warm up- my HR was like 110 in transition!! LOL
Swim
  • 29m 33s
  • 1600 yards
  • 01m 51s / 100 yards
Comments:

I kind of liked this swim, seemed pretty easy for the most part. Tried to find feet to draft off of, but wasnt happeneing. Looking at the results I seeI had one of the best swims in my AG (that doesnt say much;) so thats probaly why.
Uneventful, I just need to get used to making myslef work hard on a swim. I am sick of gicing away the races in the swim.
I need to get about 5 minutes faster here
I was 2 minutes faster then PP
What would you do differently?:

Ummm...swim harder. Sighting was pretty good for once
Transition 1
  • 01m 32s
Comments:

This went Ok...seems kind of slow though... oh well.
What would you do differently?:

geez I dont know!
Bike
  • 1h 08m 50s
  • 24.8 miles
  • 21.62 mile/hr
Comments:

I had this course almost 25.1 miles...but oh well. Was two loops. Some hills- nothing too exciting. I personally thought it was kind of windy but I guess no one else did:)
Just tried to keep my power over 200.
Really uneventful. Legs felt great, never felt like I was psuhing too hard..knew Id be able to run after. Maybe I can push a bit harder. Watts was 198, normalized power 205.
Not one person passed me. I should probaly start in the elite wave for a race this size... I think that would make the bike more challanging- I mean even if I wanted to draft there was no one to draft off of!!
What would you do differently?:

nothing, maybe get out of the swim sooner so I have someone to actually RACE against
Transition 2
  • 01m 16s
Comments:

I dont know this seems slow too... whatever.
What would you do differently?:

move faster I guess:)
Run
  • 45m 50s
  • 6.2 miles

Comments:

meh... this was OK. Always felt like I could be pushing harder but I just dont cuz I dont want to fade. There were some area we had to run thru that were MUD...like deep mushy yucky mud. They tried to cover it with straw and did lay some wood out but still yuck. This really was just an excuse for me to slow down....lol.
So funny thing is there was this guy running in front of me. When I run I just pick people out and try to catch them. So i pick out this fleet feet guy, well he obviously did not like getting passed by a girl :) So shortly after I pass him he speeds up and runs past me- going at a very fast pace. Ithought to myself- ha, good luck with that! Not soon after I see him in front of me again so I catch him and pass him. LOL- he KNEW I was coming cuz he says- hey hows it going before I even get there. I say pretty good as he mumbles some shit about how he doesnt feel good.. HA!! dont see him again :) YEAH- I need to build confidence in the run and that helps.
Started to feel pretty barfy at the end... I never puked on a run and thought it might be cool. But felt fine as soon as I hit the finish line.
Almost exact same run and bike as PP.
Interesting splits- I guess I did fade- huh?
7:14/7:11/7:45(mud)/7:33/7:30/7:52mud/6:38
ahr 175,,this should be a bit higher
What would you do differently?:

dunno...run faster!
Post race
Warm down:

hung with all the BTers, went in the lake for as minute with Lisa, drank alot...damn I was thirsty!! Watched a lot of us get hardware!
I was 1st in my AG but 5th overall...cuz I swim like crap....
My bike split was the 2cnd best (only behind by 30 sec) I know I can pull 22 at this distance.
My run was like 4th best, my swim...mmmm.... not so sure.... but it was 4-5 minutes behing the top women.

Event comments:

Good race- they do a nice job!
