Swim
Comments: Started 15th Great swim Caught 3 or 4 and really executed it well. Flip turn x2 then open turns from then on. Mat was near the pool on exit so T1 time included a 75yd run What would you do differently?: Warm up a little more Nothing, in the race Transition 1
Comments: Jogged from mat to rack at a good pace goggles down glasses on helmet on bike off rack passed one guy going to the mount line then it happened again. BSLT part 2. Stepped over put my foot into the right shoe stepped on it and missed my left shoe all together, momentum carried the peddal under me and I was on the ground bleeding with my aero bottle dumped. Left shoe popped off flask came out. Took me forever to get back on the bike, lost at least 30 sec and 3 positions. How lame is this. I need to work on my mounting. It can't happen again..... What would you do differently?: Not be a DUM'AHS and screw up my mount Actual time was :53 sec but I hit the lap function after getting up from the fall. fall cost me 1 position on the bike and one overall....1 of 163 overall, 1 of 107 males 1 of 14 ag Bike
Comments: Actual bike time inclutding fall was 24:40. Once I started riding things went very well. Pushed the pace as hard as I cthought I could. Slowed for several rough patches. Passes 2 on the first lap and 15 or so on subsequent laps. Only passed by one near the end of the last lap. 9 of 107 males What would you do differently?: hammer a little harder up the hills Transition 2
Comments: great dismount and run/jog to the rack. 1 sec extra getting racked, helmet off rt sock shoe, lt sock shoe pick up bottle and race belt and out the run course. Very good T2 6 of 163 overall, 6 of 107 males 1 of 14 ag What would you do differently?: nothing if I could run without socks I'd save 5 sec+/- Run
Comments: Never got completely into my stride. Worked the down hills but struggled on the up hills. Wanted 3:30 splits and just came up a little short What would you do differently?: Push the run more. This is where I can make free gains or hold off the folks behind me 16 of 107 males Post race
Warm down: Walked back up the run course looking for part of my race belt, fail, cheered Bill on to the finish. thought he caught me but I held him off What limited your ability to perform faster: Need more speed work for the shorted races. Pace is good for a 5 to 10K race Event comments: good race after a 1 year break. post race activities good but they needed more water. Last updated: 2010-07-26 12:00 AM
