Swim
Comments: Easy quick swim, split the lane with a lady who was just learning to swim, she did backstroke (just kicking, no arms). She was on my side of lane 2-3 times which surprised me whenever it happened because I wasn't expecting that I had to look for anyone. Time includes exiting the pool area and run to transition so faster than that. What would you do differently?: Look up more if I know there is a person that has the potential to swim out of their line in a pool swim. Transition 1
Comments: Not much here, should have left the shoes on the bike and dragged them through transition. What would you do differently?: Leave shoes on bike, should make things faster. Bike
Comments: Started out pretty strong on the bike, I knew I needed to hit about 23mph to put me in contention to win my AG, and for the first 1/2 of the race I think I was there. Then about 6 miles in my stomach started to go south, felt like I was going to puke, lost all power, thought I might be bonking but that wasn't it. Just felt awful the rest of the ride. Dropped my chain going up the last little hill. Was weaving all over the road, worried I was having some sort of heat issue. What would you do differently?: Not ride the day before in 100+ degree heat? Not drive 3 days straight back from Minnesota? Not have the AC on in the hotel rooms that got me sick? Probably one or more of those things. Transition 2
Comments: Messed with shoes, they didn't go on right. Kind of already giving up at this point after the bike What would you do differently?: Not feel crappy on the bike. Run
Comments: Hoping I would feel better once off the bike but didn't change. Was walking within the first 1/8 of a mile. Tried to run a bit, then walked, tried to puke a bit nothin happenin. Got angry at myself and ran the last mile. What would you do differently?: See above Post race
Warm down: Went back to the hotel to shower, came back to see how Sam did in her AG, she ended up winning, and Karla won open female division, awesome! Met Terps (Linda) before and after the race, she podium'd in her AG also! What limited your ability to perform faster: Heat/Sick/Travel Event comments: Disapointed in myself, this is one of my good chances where I can compete for AG podium and I blew it. Only good part of the race for me was Sam win her AG and Karla won hers, plus got to meet Terps there. Ken puts on a good race, it has everything from people that finish in 50 minutes to 2 ladies who finished in 4:30. Last updated: 2010-07-26 12:00 AM

Sam and I drove up with Karla to the hotel the night before the race, stayed at the same hotel we always stay at. Picked up packets, got to bed early.
Rode the bike course in reverse direction the day before then a short 1 mile run.
Race day ran about 20 minutes.
