Swim
Comments: Decent swim. I do not train in swimming, as the effort does not assist much. I'm comfortable in the water, so until my run improves, not going to worry about this area. What would you do differently?: Not much. Felt good in some decently tough conditions Transition 1
Comments: Took my sweet time. No need to get the heart rate up over getting on the bike What would you do differently?: Get into the clips faster and save my shins from the banging of missing the pedal, twice. Bike
Comments: Dead flat course, and I was a little surprised by the speed until I saw the winner averaged just under 20 mph. I'd expect the winner to have a speed closer to 25 mph, so not as bad as I thought. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Paced this as expected. Transition 2
Comments: did not lollygag here What would you do differently?: nothing...perfect in my eyes. Run
Comments: Ran a lot slower than expected, but I ran the entire length. Headwind on the way out made the run tough for me. What would you do differently?: get faster, faster, faster Post race
Warm down: ran through the tape and got some liguids and food...it'd been a while since I had either What limited your ability to perform faster: lack of training in biking and swimming. I've been training the run, but I needed to get some bricks to get my legs ready for the run off the bike. They loosened up 2.5 miles in...not much help in a 3 mile run. Event comments: events were not on time, but that is a bit misleading. There was a 20-30mph wind blowing, so the swim course had to be changed on the fly. Great race, and I will be back! Up at 3:45, drove to site, got there by 5:30, simple pre-meal of smart water, Gatorade, and Red Bull...short race, no need to over do it
Stay out of the 30 mph wind and try to stay warm
