Comments: Went out good and swam constantly and smooth through the entire swim, felt great heading to T1. What would you do differently?: Draft more. Transition 1
Comments: fairly smooth, a lot to do since i added in the garmin. Bike
Comments: Went great, smooth up hills and fast down. There was a few real long/steep hills but i was able to get through them well. What would you do differently?: more on my aero bars. Transition 2
Run
Comments: It went well, minus the cramps, but i was able to run through them. I was however slowed down due to the cramps in my quads. What would you do differently?: Not cramp! Post race
Event comments: The setting is beautiful and makes the race worth doing, however i feel like my mom could have organized a race more efficiently. There was no timing, except for the total from the mass start to crossing the finish, which was still a few min slower than my actual time. Its bad when you cross a finish line and are cramping up, all you want is Gatorade off your bike and you cant get there because family members are in transition blocking your way. got up two hours before race, given that i was ten min from the race venue. ate a banana and began drinking Gatorade immediately upon waking up. I was at the race about an hour before the start, which is when i stopped taking in liquids. I set up transition and went for a warm up run. About 15 min before the stat i took in a gel and some more water and got into my wet suit.
