Swim
Comments: Absolutly terrible start. Thought I was going to have to quit. Heart rate skyrocketed and couldn't get into a rhythem until about 300 meters in. After that, not bad. Had major screw up with goggles on 2nd lap that cost me a couple minutes. What would you do differently?: STAY BACK!!! I'm not a fast swimmer and always get caught up in the start. Transition 1
Comments: Exhausted from the swim, I needed to catch some air, but not as bad as my last olympic T1. Had a little trouble finding my bike, but overall the baby powder helped with the shoes. Shirt got caught up again...need to fix that. What would you do differently?: Need to find a better way to get shirt on. Find a better marker for transisition area. Bike
Comments: chain fell off twice causing delays and frustration. Lost bike computer about 10 miles in. Probably could've pushed more, but was afraid of burning out on the hills. What would you do differently?: Need to get chain situation under control. Stay more aero on downhills. Transition 2
Comments: Couldn't get feet out of shoes because of high speeds and braking coming into transistion. What would you do differently?: couldn't find my transistion area. Need a marker. Run
Comments: Felt great moving into the run. Just enough energy left. Very happy with my performance. What would you do differently?: Give it all I have the last mile. Waited a little too long to turn on the juice. Post race
Warm down: Hung out with Melissa What limited your ability to perform faster: Terrible swim, bike chain coming loose. Tough course Event comments: Race was well organized and affordable, but the course was very difficult. Not the kind of race you'd want for your first olympic ever or even of the season. A tough course for seasoned competitors. Last updated: 2010-08-04 12:00 AM
