  • 800 yards
  • 01m 19s / 100 yards
Comments:

was a little out of wack during the race. as soon as I took off my goggles fogged up. I found myself crossing over on my stroke which in turn steared me off course just a little. I had to keep correcting the direction I was going throwing my stroke off.
What would you do differently?:

more warm up, new goggles
Transition 1
  • 00m 55s
Comments:

smooth transition
What would you do differently?:

could pick up the pace running out of water and with bike.
Bike
  • 51m 32s
  • 18 miles
  • 20.96 mile/hr
Comments:

Need to bike more. Did not push the hills due to a cracked frame on the bike. Not to smart to ride with a bad bike. Held back because of this. Second half of the race I felt the 3 beers and the bag of cheetos from the night before...
What would you do differently?:

Stop drinking the night before a race!!! Train more on the bike. Learn to love the bike..
Transition 2
  • 00m 45s
Comments:

Another smooth transition. happy with it overall.
What would you do differently?:

not sure
Run
  • 18m 7s
  • 3 miles
  • 06m 02s  min/mile
Comments:

took off ok and then once again got in my comfort Zone and stayed there until the end. I talked myself out of pushing it. Bad mind games during the run. I kept thinking about the beer and cheetos from the night before.
What would you do differently?:

It is 3 miles put the hammer down and go. why hold back???
Post race
Warm down:

ran 3 miles warm down and swam some.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

mind games... need to stop thinking sometimes and race.

Event comments:

Overall the volunteers were great.. The T-shirts were the ugliest ones I have ever seen. Cotton really??? Pink was one of the colors in the shirt. I will not wear this at all! There was a little mix up with results for the teams and by the time they fixed it mosty people were leaving and the team members did not get the accolades they deseved. Next years goal is to train 4-5 people to do their first tri and also to volunteer and help out at this race. I need to be one of those great volunteers.
