Swim
Comments: Awesome race until halfway through run. The temps were extreme. What would you do differently?: Take some masters swim classes to improve my form, otherwise I was very happy with my swim!! Transition 1
Comments: Took my time here it was very crowded at the bike mount area. What would you do differently?: Nothing Bike
Comments: Felt great and loved my new bike. I thought I hydrated enough but I guess with the extreme heat I didn't! What would you do differently?: Hydrate more for conditions Transition 2
Comments: Volunteers racked bike. I took some extra time in transition to hydrate, sunscreen and fuel. It really helped and I felt good when I left. What would you do differently?: Maybe try and cut the time down. Run
Comments: Felt great up to somewhere between 9 and 13 miles. The heat of the day really took a toll, there were people laid out on the bike and the run, probably more than I have ever seen due to heat. What would you do differently?: I guess I need to train harder for the run and hydrate more than Usual in these kind of conditions. I felt fine until just over half way then nausea started to hamper things. Thought I was going to personal best this race. My mental attitude was great!!! Post race
Warm down: Throw up and lay down on cold tile floor! No kidding What limited your ability to perform faster: heat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Event comments: There were some issues with lack of water with some stations on bike and run. Volunteers did a great job improvising with what they had. Ice was an issue but given the heat I think more people were using water and ice than normal. I always got water one way or another! Last updated: 2010-08-08 12:00 AM
