Pre-race routine:

got up at 5:00, had a energy bar and half a cup of black coffee, and a bottle of water, pack up car and head to event. Got there at 6:00 and had plenty of time to get set up withouth waiting in lines.
Event warmup:

use restroom, drink a little more water, and stretch.
Swim
  • 09m 34s
  • 437 yards
  • 08s / 100 yards
Comments:

couldn't get in a rythm given all the turning, this slowed me down a lot. And my poor form didn't help either.
What would you do differently?:

I need to take a few lessons to get faster, and train more. I don't think there is anything I could have done differently raceday, I'm just not that strong of a swimmer yet.
Transition 1
  • 03m 10s
Comments:

I probably could have moved faster but all in all felt it went pretty smooth.
What would you do differently?:

I would probably run faster from the swim, and once I had my bike.
Bike
  • 41m 25s
  • 13.67 miles
  • 19.80 mile/hr
Comments:

I probably could have pushed harded but since it is my first triathlon I wanted to make sure I had enough gas in the tank to finish my run. All in all I was content with my bike performance.
What would you do differently?:

I would push harder to maintain a faster speed, I let myself slowdown to much when I was following someone who started to slow down, I should have just maintained my speed and passed them.
Transition 2
  • 01m 27s
Comments:

This was easy as I don't have clipless pedals. Everything went smoothly.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing.
Run
  • 26m 9s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 08m 26s  min/mile
Comments:

The first 10 minutes was the hardest part of the race for me, so I went pretty slow to settle in. After that I sped up, but didn't want to push too hard and run out of steam. I think I could have gone a little faster, but not much.
What would you do differently?:

Not much. I would probably have paid a little more attention to my time and pace, but I was just focused on finishing.
Post race
Warm down:

banannas, cookies, and water.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

My conservative mindset since it was my first race. I wasn't in the mindset of pushing myself hard, I was in the mindset of just feeling it out.

Event comments:

I thought the race was great, everything went smoothly and the volunteers were awesome. The post race party was great, and I was able to get my bike out of the transition area very quickly, and I thought results were posted in a reasonable amount of time. Had a blast!
